T-Sketch shirt has a lit-up whiteboard on front

Notify the world of your latest wisdom or tomfoolery with T-Sketch, the T-shirt with an illuminated whiteboard on the front. What you write on it is entirely up to you, but to us, this looks like a specials menu for a restaurant serving breakfast.

Perhaps you could take advantage of that notion, marking up today’s specials right there on your chest. The glory’s all yours until the battery runs out on those LEDs that are lighting up the thing. The cost of attracting all that attention is a steep $60. It’s your money.

Palette-Digital Artist - The Portable PC For Artists

Here’s a design concept that old-school artists who wear berets and paint with palettes will like. The gorgeous Palette-Digital Artist is an entry into the Microsoft NextGen PC Design Competition for 2008. It's a handheld touchscreen PC, and looky there, it has a thumbhole for easy handling.

This stylish design will give you that painterly feeling that's sorely lacking with conventional computers, letting you digitally paint your masterpiece with a special stylus while holding your digital palette in your hand. Hey, this could be just like the good old days.

Of course, all the connections for the Palette are wireless, but we were surprised to see an old-timey spinning DVD drive designed into the mix. Despite its odd-shaped screen, we’re thinking this shape makes sense for more than just painting. Beautiful.

Pantech Mobile Phone Concept Designs for 2010

Korean mobile phone manufacturer Pantech recently organized a contest in which students from Korean Universities were asked to create design concepts for cellphones that can be made available by 2010. And in its conclusion, five dazzling mobile phone concept designs were released. Pictured here is the Cell Dot cellphone design, featuring a very minimalist overall look and feel, plus it’s seriously slim. Other designs include the Tower Lily, Wavy Stream, Waterfall Fish, and Simplice Section.

With the way things are working right now, it’s a little hard to believe that phones just like this one will be available in just two short years. Well, although I’m certainly up for something like this, at this point in time I just don’t see where a device like this would be coming from. But then again, I could be wrong. Any student who took part in Pantech’s design contest could stand up and bring his/her concepts to life. You never know.

Continue reading for the rest of the designs from Pantech’s recently concluded mobile phone design for 2010 contest…

Orbit Wheel Skates

Orbit Wheel SkatesLike a cross between a skateboard and inline skates, but with more freedom and simplicity than either, the Orbitwheel is a brand new concept for wheeled sports

The design is simple: two feet, two wheels... and you're ready to go. The Orbitwheel's concept is basic, but with the wheels whirling around your feet, you are capable of countless tricks and maneuvers that can be as complex and creative as you can come up with.

With the Orbitwheel's minimalistic design, fun and transportation have never been so portable and convenient. The large wheel radius enables you to enjoy the Wheelblazer on a variety of different surfaces. The two thin, light wheels require no folding down or taking apart, making them easy to slip into a backpack or carry in your hand. And when you're ready to get going again, you don't need to fuss with buckles and flaps - just step into the hoops and take off.

Samsung SCH-W420 Haptic phone TouchWiz User Interface

Samsung’s SCH-W420/W4200

Check out Samsung’s latest creation to go against Apple’s iPhone. I love the design and functionality like the terrestrial broadcast TV receiver. The phone is going to sell for $700 to $800 and is Korea only. Hopefully we can see this in the US sometime soon!

The Samsung SCH-W420 offers to 'communicate' with you via 22 kinds of vibrations. Samsung apparently believes you can remember and distinct that many different vibrations. Actually the phone uses some of the vibrations to give you tactile feedback on user interface controllers. For instance, when adjusting the volume the graphic knob makes a clicking noise and vibration.

Types of callers are also marked with different vibrations.

Other features of this clean styled Samsung phone include DMB TV, 2MP camera and 3.2 inch screen. The SCH-W420 is only 12.1mm thin.

Nokia 3555

Looking to grab a little low-end 3G handset on T-Mobile America? Your choices just got a bit more appealing. The Nokia 3555, which has been floating around the rumor mill for quite some time now, has just launched on T-Mobile USA. What does $50 (after a $100 instant rebate) buy you? A VGA camera, microSD slot, media player, and on-board AIM/MSN/ICQ clients, and not a whole lot more. Support for the 1700 mhz WCDMA 3G band is nice, but is of little use considering the fact that T-Mobile’s 3G network, umm, non-existent. $50 for a handset like this isn’t a bad deal, but there’s nothing here that would prompt us to run out and grab one.
