This new S2 MP3 player by Samsung might be one of the smallest MP3 players ever. Measuring out at 0.65 x 1.62 x 1.66-inches, and only weighing 0.03-pound, it has rightfully earned its nickname, which is Pebble.
Basically, the S2 comes with 1GB of internal memory and also an FM tuner. It plays MP3, WMA, and OGG, and comes in a few colors including green, purple, red, black, and white. The battery life on the S2 is pretty nice, although, considering its size, 13 hours isn’t too long on a single charge. However, it only takes 2 hours to fully charge, which isn’t too bad. There are a few buttons on the device, basically just play, pause, volume and playback options. If you want a small MP3 player then the Pebble may be one to consider.
Next up we have the S3, which is a PMP. Beginning with screen size, which measures in at 1.8-inches with a 240 x 320 resolution, and it comes in two different models, 4GB or 8GB. Otherwise, it measures in at 1.73 x 3.74 x 0.39-inches and weighs only 0.11-pounds. Also, it supports MP3, WMA, MPEG4 and even plays flash games. It lasts 25 hours when playing just audio, and 4 hours on video. Furthermore, it also has an FM tuner and comes in green, red, blue, black, and white.
With these two new MP3 players, Samsung is looking to make compactness and thinness a must, while maintaining good quality. No word on exact pricing as of yet, but it shouldn’t run you too deep, and it is set to go on sale in June. Via
